Playa Chileno Beach Is Cabo's Best Kept Secret

Skip the typical crowds at Médano Beach and spend a day at beautiful Chileno Beach. One of the cleanest beaches in Los Cabos, Mexico, this striking swath of golden sand is tucked away just off the tourist corridor near km 14.
Tranquil waters make for calm snorkeling conditions, and a bounty of tide pools beg for exploration. A ban on motorized watersports means you're guaranteed a tranquil experience. Boasting a paved parking lot, bathrooms, showers, shade palapas and disabled access, it is easy to see why Chileno Beach is a favorite of locals and visitors alike.

FAQs

  • How can I get to Chileno Beach using public transportation?
It's easy to get to Chileno Beach on Cabo's public bus system. A bus stop is located to the northeast of the beach's parking lot entrance at kilometer 14.5. Just hop on one of the Supercabos (the bus system in Cabo) and head to the beach. Supercabos are passenger-friendly and will drop you off or pick you up wherever you would like to stop along the route on the main highway between Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo. The cost is less than $2.50 USD per ride, and the busses operate seven days a week from 5:30 a.m. until 10:00 p.m.
  • Are there any shops to rent beach equipment like umbrellas?
Chileno Beach has the Cabo Acuadeportes Dive Shop located on the beach's southwestern end. There you can rent kayaks, snorkel and dive gear and buy bottled water and soda. They also have limited beach equipment to rent, but like any other beach in Cabo, it is best to be prepared with your own chairs and umbrella for the day.
