New Michelin Dinner Under The Stars - Now at Sea - Offered by Grand Velas Los Cabos

An Ultra-Exclusive Voyage Merges World-Class Gastronomy, Celestial Storytelling, and the Sea of Cortez In Celebration of MICHELIN Star Distinction

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico (June 9, 2026) - Grand Velas Los Cabos raises the standard of ultra-luxury further with its new Star Maps & Star Chefs: Michelin Dinner Under the Stars at Sea. On the private journey, avant-garde cuisine, expert astronomy, and the boundless beauty of Baja California converge aboard Velas' 55-ft Azimut, Bella Yacht. The culinary centerpiece is a five-course tasting menu conceived by acclaimed chef Francisco Sixtos of the hotel's MICHELIN-starred Cocina de Autor, which has earned a MICHELIN star annually since 2024. The restaurant's designation of one MICHELIN star was confirmed for this year on May 20, 2026. Its sister restaurant, Cocina de Autor at Grand Velas Riviera Maya, also once again received one MICHELIN star. Cocina de Autor in Riviera Maya was developed by celebrated chefs Bruno Oteiza and Mikel Alonso with Chef Nahum Velasco at the helm; while in Los Cabos, the culinary program is led by two MICHELIN star chef Sidney Schutte alongside Sixtos.

Departing at golden hour, the Star Maps & Star Chefs cruise carries guests into the Sea of Cortez. Panoramic views of the region's iconic rock formations serve as a living backdrop, while ambient music, curated canapés, and a premium open bar — featuring champagne, signature cocktails, and rare spirits — set an atmosphere of effortless refinement. As the sky darkens, the yacht's deck transforms into an intimate floating restaurant. Inspired by the constellations, celestial elements, and finest seasonal ingredients Baja has to offer, the dinner moves from local Bluefin Tuna with sea urchin, ginger, and lime, to Kristal Kaviari Caviar with blue abalone and cauliflower, then on to Farm-Raised Cured Totoaba with carrot aguachile and nixtamal. Next up is a Triple-Seared Angus Steak with celery root and Maitake mushrooms, before concluding with a dessert of matcha, green apple, coconut, and amaranth. Wine pairings are curated to mirror the character of the cosmos itself — from champagne for the stars to a selection of bold Mexican reds reserved for the evening's main course.

Following the dinner, a private astronomer guides the evening's celestial narrative, offering live interpretation of the night sky above Baja through a high-end telescope installed on deck. Guests are led through the mythology of constellations, the science of planetary alignments, and the stories that humanity has long traced among the stars — making the experience as intellectually captivating as it is gastronomically distinguished.

The experience is anchored in Grand Velas Los Cabos' 5,451 sq. ft. Presidential Suite, offering unobstructed ocean views and absolute privacy. A curated suite of inclusions accompanies the stay: round-trip private airport transportation, an educational private tequila tasting featuring Mexico's finest agave spirits, and two 50-minute therapeutic massages per stay. Private housekeeping and personalized attention are provided throughout.
