Every touchpoint was Exceptional.

Our stay at Grand Velas was nothing short of exceptional—truly a five-star experience in every sense. From the moment we arrived, the service was seamless, the property was immaculate, and every detail felt thoughtfully curated. The dining alone sets this place apart. Each of the five formal restaurants delivers a completely unique experience. Cocina de Autor was an absolute highlight—creative, beautifully presented dishes that rival any Michelin-level experience. Frida offered rich, authentic Mexican flavors in an elegant setting Lucca was perfect for upscale Italian with incredible depth of flavor, and Sen Lin delivered fresh, vibrant Asian cuisine that rounded out the culinary journey perfectly. Every meal felt like an event, not just dinner. What really made our stay unforgettable, though, was the people. Oscar, the poolside barkeeper, deserves special recognition. Not only did he make some of the best cocktails we’ve ever had, but he brought energy, personality, and genuine warmth to every interaction. By the second day, he already knew our preferences and had drinks ready before we even asked—next-level service. Between the world-class food, stunning grounds, and incredible staff, Grand Velas exceeded every expectation. We’ll absolutely be back.

I booked the Grand Velas Resort vacation last December and we just got back home this weekend. First the negatives: THERE ARE NONE!!! This resort really is a luxury five star resort all the way! First, gorgeous location on the east side of Cabo away from the traffic and craziness. It is quiet well groomed, and from arrival to departure a royal experience. Everyone we came in contact with was extremely friendly, helpful, concerned about our comfort and positive experience. Now I'm not just talking about the front desk or the servers, bartenders, or our personal concierge (more on Daniel in a minute), no EVERYONE from the gardners, to housekeeping, to the lifeguard, to the kitchen crews...I mean EVERYONE wants you to enjoy your stay. I have never experience such treatment. OK so our personal concierge Daniel Gomez. His dedication was amazing. His daily check ins, activity notices, personal arrangements for dinner reservations, he even went above and beyond when my wife was lamenting missing our dogs. Daniel set up a special gift for us in the room and it made her so happy. Daniel not only holds himself to a very high standard but he made sure everyone around hm does too. Perfection all the way. Special mention also to Mixologist Julio at the The Miramar Bar (located on the ocean right under the Velas 10 restaurant). I had a nightcap each night and chatted the night away with Julio. Very friendly and accomodating. He even organized a personal Tequila tasting for me imparting his great knowledge. Really informative stuff. All the restaurants are top notch. Seriously LA, London, And New York diners would be right at home in all the fine restaurants on the property. Excellent quality food offering and top shelf alcohols at every bar and restaurant. OK so yes this place is very expensive. I went for a very nice suite to celebrate an anniversary but still it isn't cheap. But guess what? The value is clearly there. The suite we stayed in was gorgeous, large, beautifully appointed and had a dipping pool (I used every day after the gym), and the food is excellent (even poolside) all the way. I figure food and drink and room service alone is worth $400 a day for the two of us. Gratuities and taxes are already included (although we tipped every one extra). The bottom line is when you do all the math this luxury resort is a great value. Highly Highly Highly recommended splurge vacation!
