Frequently Asked Questions

Q
Cabo San Lucas passport requirements
A To enter Mexico it is necessary to prove citizenship, and now passports are the only accepted form of identification for air travel. A photo ID comes in handy when you're in the city, so there's no need to move around with your valuable passport. A passport can serve as proof of citizenship and a photo identity document only. The airlines will provide the tourist card, also known as FMM (Multiple Migratory Form); this is a legal requirement for all those who are not Mexican and enter the country temporarily. This form indicates to the Mexican authorities that your stay in the country is legal and the number of days you can stay in Mexican territory. Be sure to save the FMM, as you must present this document when leaving Mexico. If you lose your FMM it is advisable to contact the immigration authorities as soon as possible.
