Grand Velas is the only all inclusive hotel we have stayed. Since you arrive you are treating with utmost respect and class. The staff is always attentive and there's a concierge assigned before your arrival. Our welcome was with champagne and the valet parking was prompt to park our car. The suite for our family was spectacular with oceanfront view and from the design of the property, I can assume everyone has great views. The hotel is like a bowl with huge balconies covered in bougainvillea overlooking the sea and the pools / garden. As for the food, every single of the 5 or 6 restaurants is great to amazing. You have cocina de autor, Velas 10 (we went twice), loved Piaf and liked Frida. Cabrillo by the pool for lunch was a nice break with fresh grilled fish every day ( the cook remembered our order) and an array of ceviches and poke. So delicious. Breakfast buffet was standard we had eggs made to order, juice, fruit and cheeses. The pool bars are unbelievable, we were having piña coladas BBCs and mojitos. The best time was paleta time ( popsicles) If you have children the kids club is great they have a busy schedule making piñatas, kites, swimming, exploring. We had an issue where a kid told mine to put hands on an oven and the attendant wasn't aware, so it was a bad burn and no explanation given. The beach is cool to take walks but not to go for a swim. Not too many vendors in this area. We took a few trips nearby but overall you really don't need to go anywhere since they have it all here.
